Hi all.

It is my first contact with EGS and I have no experience with it and undoubtedly I do everything wrong… My goal is perform simulation brachy source in one position in artifical phantom.

I have some troubles with egs_brachy, namely I can’t see my phantom in egs_view. Phantom is obtained from CT DICOM files using ctcreate. And the .egsphant file is ok – i can see it in dosxyz_show.

I trying to put this .egsphant file into .egsinp according with instructions in user’s manual. Below, on the picture (1) I show input file and error which appears when I trying to run egs_view with this input file. And not only with this input file. The same error as on the picture (1) appears when i trying to open any geometry using glib library – even, for example, like this:

If I correctly understood files .egsphant are available for dosxyz but not for egs_view (this information I have found in Internet). So I tried another approach based on files .density and .ramp obtained from .egsphant file. And the problem with this trial is shown on second picture (2). I’m afraid I have no more ideas what’s going on.

I will be grateful for any answer.

I am a beginner trying to run dosxyznrc.

I am a beginner trying to run dosxyznrc. I am currently running it on Windows 7 (I will be connecting to a linux server in the next week or two). I am trying to use the GUI for dosxyznrc. Right now, I am trying to run one of the examples (air_bone_interface_example.egsinp). Once I load it, I click on the “Run” tab and choose “Compile” (it is very fast with no problems). Once I do that, I click “Run” under the “Run” tab, and I get the error “The job has failed”. When double checking parameters, I made sure I used the correct pegs4 file (I am using the 700icru one in the Hen_House directory) by double checking the material parameters (they are 700icru materials). Additionally, I double check the phase space file is in the directory where the input parameters are, those seem to be in check. Am I making a mistake in the workflow? I figure I save the input parameters if I chance something, click compile, then after closing that dialog box, open the run dialog box and hit execute. What am I doing wrong here?!?! Thank you!!

I try to build a CT with ctcreate, but the definition is not good enough in the *.egsphant file among all these different media. I attached a slice and a copy of my *.inp file settings to see how does it look like.

Do you have any idea how I can get a better definition in the *.egsphant file?
