Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone! I am trying to model a target that is composite at the EGSnrc and having trouble to do it. I am using EGSnrc GUI to the medium composition. My target is 52.5% Bi, 32% Pb and 15.5% Sn. How should I enter it in the medium composition? I am attaching the screenshot.

Hi Everyone

Hi Everyone,

I am dealing with a very minor dilemma (I think). I was going through the “Getting Started with EGSnrc” documentation example. I compiled and executed the code using the EGS GUI. I then played around with the egs_view utility to view the output (slab.egsinp and slab.ptracks), and I was able to open the slab.egsinp file perfectly, but when I try to load the ptracks file, I get a message that says “This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.”

I am thinking it is because I accidentally told windows to open the ptracks file in egs_view and now I am stuck with having to specify a program to open the ptracks file as. I tried specifying it to open as notepad++ and tried reloading in egs_view again and got the same error message. I also tried renaming the file with the .ptracks extension again, and that still didn’t work. Does anyone know of any solution to this?

Thank you,

Tara

Hi all;

Hi all;

I have this issue where I can not run the simulation with more than 100 000 histories! I get the error showing on the pics every time I try to increase the number of history or recycle. I have run a simulation before with 10 000 000 histories smoothly. Any thought!

your help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hanan

Hi everyone!

Hi everyone! Thanks again for the organizers and lecturers for the excellent training workshop at Tampere! I really enjoyed it and learned a lot.

I do have a simple (and a bit silly) question, too. How does one implement a torus in EGS++? I don’t think there’s a geometry class for it – although I could be wrong. Does anybody know what would be a good approach?

Hi everybody

Hi everybody,

I just installed EGSnrc with no error messages but I can neither run the test.py in egs_brachy nor compile any file using ‘make’.

I later realized I need to define various environment variables.

Please how do I add statements to my “.bashrc file:”

Thanks very much in advance
