Hi everyone

Hi everyone

I have 2 questions about using radionuclide source.

1. In the using of this source, the output is dose in Gy. Is this normalized dose to per particle?

2. If dose is normalized to per particle, what is the role of the activity definition in input file?

As you see in below image, we have two dose profile that in the one of the input file of them, activity is defined 2 times of the other.

Any comments would be highly appreciated.

Hello Everyone

Hello Everyone,

I could not find the detail about line#5 in .pegs4dat files that is highlighted in the screenshot below. what are these zeros for and what is value 150 representing?

The second value 200 is number of bins, I guess.

How can I change these number of bins when I am creating a newmaterial.pegs4dat file because in case of new generated file it is always fixed 2000?

Hi All

Hi All,

I tried to do a simulation

for electrons in a magnetic field impinging on a water slab

stating the following phrase in the input file

:start MC transport parameter:

Magnetic Field = 1.0, 0.0, 0.0 #magnetic field

EM ESTEPE = 0.02

:stop MC transport parameter:

this however has non effect on the simulated electron tracks.

Do I have to add something to turn the magnetic field on?

Thank you in advance for your help.

best regards

karl

Hello

Hello,

I am trying to use an old egs code called beamdose. I have updated the code and the compilation was OK, but when I try to run it it fails, in run_user_code_batch. The message that appears is

“The canonical system as returned by config.guess (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu) is not the

same as the one found in the config file (linux64).

I hope you know what you are doing.”

I ‘ve tried to recompile the directory /HEN_HOUSE/egs++ but after that it appears the same message.

I will Thanks any clue

Sergio

Hello everyone

Hello everyone,

I’ll be very grateful to have dose dose scaling factors or the egs_brachy input files for calculating the dose-rate constant and the air-kerma strengths per history for I-125.S17 seed.

Is it possible to calculate the value of the air-kerma strengths per history from the reference air-kerma strength value on the source certificate?

Why is the unit of air-Kerma strength per history (U/hist): Gy.cm^2/hist (user manual) instead of cGy cm^2 h^-1/hist since U = cGy cm^2 h^-1

Thanks very much in advance

Hi everyone

Hi everyone,

I am trying to set-up a shared library from a BEAM as a source in EGS chamber. But I am getting this error:

bencote@mpu4:~/egsnrc/egs_chamber$ ex egs_chamber input_file pegs_file

beam_code = BEAM_myaccel

inputfile = 10×10

pegs file = pegs_file

I have no clue on what is the issue here…

I can run the BEAM code and create phase-space file, and then I can use those phase space file as a source in egs_chamber whiteout any problem.

Thanks for your help,
