I have installed EGSnrc in cluster for faster computing and I was able make iterative run but not parallel run(snapshot of error message below). What else needs to be set up to be able to do parallel run? Help appreciated! Thank you.

Announcement about backwards compatibility: are you using EGSnrc 2017 or newer with egs++ input files created for EGSnrc 2016 or earlier? E.g. egs_chamber, cavity, egs_cbct, etc. If so, read on…

If your egs++ input file was written for EGSnrc 2016 or earlier and contains a “transformation” input block with a “rotation”, it may no longer produce the same result with new versions of EGSnrc. These transformations are used to rotate geometries and sources. The direction of rotation about the y-axis was intentionally reversed (fixed) in EGSnrc 2017. In order to produce the same output, input files will need to be updated.

For example, if your input file for EGSnrc 2016 contained:

For the output to be the same in EGSnrc 2017 onwards it must be updated to:

rotation = 0.5 -0.5 0.5

Having some difficulties with running DOS Source 20 in parallel.

I am simulating a helical therapy unit by running a BEAM generated PHSP around a cubic water phantom in DOS. I am able to run it as a single run without much difficulty, and get plan geometry where expected.

I’ve been succesful in running Source 21 in parallel, but this was a couple months ago and I do not recall all troubleshooting steps I might have taken.

When I try to run DOS in parallel by the following command:

exb dosxyznrc inputfile pegsdatafile p=N

It begins the run, but seems to encounter an issue with either the .lock file or elsewhere.

The error I get in the fort.3 file is:

I do not have any errors running the files as single thread processes, so I am not sure what about parallelization is causing this issue.

I am getting this kind of error message while trying to use cluster computing. As they have installed EGSnrc software for me and also set up environment variables by themselves. The only difference I found is that I am using Mac Os but cluster computing is linux64. How do I able to fix this problem and use cluster for faster computation. Help appreciated!! Thanks.

Is it usual that BEAM/DOSXYZnrc simulation taking such a long time using BEAM source as compared with phase space source? As scoring phsp is occupying lots of disk space, so I can not score/keep many phsp files in pc/laptop. Is there any alternatives to save the disk space(like saving phsp files in external hard drive and put it back as needed) so that computation gets faster by using phsp source for each run? Help appreciated! Thanks.

I noticed statdose has array dimension limitation for voxels (28,28,400) for reading/plotting .3ddose file in DOSXYZnrc. What i need to do if i need more number of voxels in x/y direction? Is there any solution or alternative? Help appreciated! Thank you.
