I am looking for advice how to debug user codes.

I am looking for advice how to debug user codes. My problem is the following: I have a user code, that crashes sometimes. However it does this rarely I only have examples, where it crashes after hours of computation.

I guess this is not so uncommon. Do you have advice for debugging this? For instance how to reduce this to something that crashes quickly?

I am using the FLURZ code.

I am using the FLURZ code. In AUSGAB there is a large section of code following an IF (IARG < 5) statement. I want to investigate particles that fall under IARG statements 1 or 2… but it seems that they are never handled. Only IARG = 0 (when particles are about to be transported through a step) events are handled.

When, or where, can I find these ‘about to be discarded’ particles?

I got an issue while running simulation for IAEA Phase space file for 10cm x 10cm field size. when i execute run, it appears,

Input name of phase space file A(80)

And then message appears

“The job has failed”

Can anyone solve this problem?

I have run simulations successfully for IAEA phase space files for Field sizes 5cm x 5cm and smaller.
